As we all know, senior year can be extremely stressful. Many students have a plan for their future after high school, while others are still unsure. With a continuous chain of decisions to make and knowing what you want to do, it can be overwhelming and hard to decide. Two of my friends and classmates, Hannah Stacy and Vonnaye Blackburn, have decided on Eastern Kentucky University. They love the environment and are excited to begin their new journey. Hannah plans on being a nurse practitioner and Vonnaye is also going into the medical field. The campus is about an hour away, big and home to many students. Many have also mentioned staying closer to home and going to Bluegrass Community Technical College. It is much closer, being only 30 minutes away. This can be a smart decision since college is so expensive nowadays. Underclassman has also made decisions on their future plans, Sophomore Mady Walters, has her mind set on Morehead State University. She fell in love after her first visit on campus and can’t wait to graduate. Although it’s much smaller and older, it has a good reputation with many students attending. Many athletes have also made tough decisions and some have decided to continue playing in college. Recently, Senior Max Hill signed to Georgetown College for football. He has played football for years and wanted to continue the legacy.

While all of these seniors know what they want to do, the future can always change. That’s why it’s important for seniors to keep an open mind and follow their passions. Senior Koby Turner is extremely uncertain about her future. “I want to go to MCTC to get the basics, but after that, I have no clue what I’m going to do. I feel as though I’m not very good at anything, so it’s gonna be difficult to find something I am good enough to make my career.” Even though she has no clue what she wants to do, she described how she was going to find a job “Well, I am just going to keep experimenting and do what I love.” Which is a great piece of advice that many seniors should follow in order to succeed.
