2022 Gas Prices

While many dramatic changes have happened to our economy over the past two years, one stands out more than the rest. Particularly in the United States, gas prices have been on an uphill surge. And while many would assume these changes occurred due to the pandemic, gas prices now range from $4 to $7 dollars across America.

The states that rely more on gasoline to fuel their daily lives are struggling to afford or find alternative sources for this crisis. To add, the war between Ukraine and Russia has affected the oil that is transported to and from the US, thus hurting the countries that rely on their products.

Various political outbreaks have risen as well. Many Republicans argue that President Biden is to blame for the gas prices rising to tremendous levels. But the reality of the situation is that as the oil supply goes down with time, we scramble to find sources that can provide us with oil. Therefore, the supply and demand for oil are unbalanced.

From a political standpoint, the ongoing feud between people who vote red versus blue has been steadily increasing over the years. And because of the gas prices, the issue has spread like wildfire. Teenagers who are starting to drive have been posting on social media that they can’t afford the prices with the minimum wage they earn from working in fast food and other places.

While this is a tremendous issue, the world is on the brink of WWlll. On the plus side, gas prices encourage Americans and other countries to walk or bike places instead of driving, which is beneficial to the planet. This also encourages the world to find other sources of fuel. With the way the environment is headed, it’s clear that oil won’t be around for much longer anyway.
