Mariah Carey is a grammy-winning recording artist, singer, songwriter, and record producer. She has been a topping hit for over three decades. Carey’s holiday song’s regain notice from her audience during the holidays, especially during Christmas. She became famous at the age of 20 when she scored her first hit with “Vision Of Love”, her debut single, which dominated Billboard’s Hot 100 in August of 1990. Her most successful and most popular song during Christmas is “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” What made Mariah Carey so inspired to write this song? In 2015, Carey said at the time “I’m a very festive person and I love the holidays. I’ve sung Christmas songs since I was a little girl. I used to go Christmas caroling.” She included, “I wrote it just out of love for Christmas and I love Christmas music.”  Carey makes about 2.6 million dollars each year from the song. The song was made in 1994, so for the last 28 years, she has made at least $72.8 million from “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” made her $60 million between 1994 and 2016. “All I Want For Christmas Is You” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight non-consecutive weeks and ranked as the most popular song of all time on the Billboard’s Holiday 100. It is also the top 1 most listened to and streamed song. Mariah Carey is known for her exceptional five-octave vocal range but this doesn’t tell us what makes her voice so unique and different. “Because I have nodules I’ve learned to sing around them and with them. And it’s sort of like I use a part of the cords when I’m using the higher register.” Carey went on and explained how her vocal coach uses her vocal cords as a case of study during lectures because her tone is so unique. This would also maybe explain why her song “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” is so trendy and popular during Christmas.
