A 16-year-old known for his selflessness and generosity died on April 13, 2023, hours after he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Before April 13, Kyle Limper was “a completely healthy and happy young man with no sign of illness,”  family members said in an obituary. It is hard for any parent to wrap their mind on this heartbreaking story. One day your son is happy and healthy, and then 24-hours after being rushed to the hospital, he’s gone. Kyle’s mom says, “He was selfless, he would do anything for anybody, he would be friends with anybody, anything you needed he was there.” Kyle Limper had perfect attendance at Penn Treaty High School and dreamed of working for a CSI unit someday. After playing basketball recently, the perfectly healthy teen told his parents his back hurt and the pain did not go away. He was rushed to urgent care, then Jefferson Hospital. Kyle’s dad, Ken, says that when they took him to the hospital they told him that if the pain wouldn’t go away after a few days to bring him back to the hospital. After a couple of days he couldn’t even stand up. An ambulance rushed him into St. Christopher’s Hospital where doctors took a test and told his devastated family that his organs were shutting down because he was suffering from Leukemia. Doctors said it was from a blood infection. Kyle’s mom, Joddi says, “I don’t wish this feeling on anyone, it is indescribable, I can’t even put into words that feeling.” Kyle’s mom, Jodie, just beat cancer herself, but her own battle put a real strain on her family. There is a Gofundme to help Kyle’s parents pay for his funeral expenses. There is a message that his parents want to share out to everybody – “Parents, live an amazing life with your kids because you never know when they won’t be by your side anymore.”
