Paris-Bourbon YMCA Teen Center
May 4, 2023
Located on the third floor of the Paris-Bourbon YMCA is a Teen Center, the perfect place for teens to visit. They have a plethora of activities for teens to enjoy making it the perfect safe space for teens who need it, to have fun with friends, and make new ones.
The Teen Center has many rooms that can provide teenagers with either a fun or quiet environment. The study area is the perfect place for any teen to study without distraction. It includes desks and computers to utilize for any academic need. If you’re a teen who can’t focus at home or doesn’t have the sources needed, then going to the Teen Center is perfect for you.
The Teen Center also has an area for teens to work out. Many teens have the issue of feeling unsafe or uncomfortable working out around adults, now they don’t have to worry. There are weights, kettlebells, a recumbent bike, a treadmill, yoga mats, exercise videos, and more. The most intriguing feature in the room is the video game powered by exercise. You peddle on the machine and your peddling gives power to the game, encouraging you to continue. Teens can work out while they have fun, feel safe, and feel comfortable in the Teen Center.
There is also a variety of games and plenty of comfortable seating for teens to play games as much as they’d like. There is an E-sport gaming/TV room, Nintendo Switch, and a PS5 coming soon. There are also hands-on games as well such as ping pong and pop-a-shot. These resources allow teens to have fun and make new friends through gaming.
To add to the opportunities, classes and activities are available at the Teen Center as well, such as art classes, video game tournaments, finance classes, cooking classes, and more. These classes are free for members and $10.60 a night for non-members.
The Paris-Bourbon YMCA has put together a great place for teens to have fun and make friends at the same time while being safe. Many teens across Bourbon County can have a safe space with no worries whether it’s for studying, gaming, or just hanging out.
