The infamous Keke Palmer received backlash from none other than her boyfriend, Darius Jackson. Palmer was at a show Usher hosted in July when a video was posted online of Usher serenading her. Darius tweeted in response to the photo of Palmer in a sheer dress, “It’s the outfit tho, ..you a mom,” he deleted his Twitter account 24 hours later due to the backlash. Since the incident, the two have not been spotted together despite sharing their son Leodis Andrellton. A source says that Jackson and Palmer have agreed to co-parent Leodis and adds: “You don’t have to be in the same household to be good parents.” Palmer has come forward and spoke out about her opinion of the situation when asked by The Cut. Palmer said, “I’ll be honest, I think before I even had the baby, I was really actually quite self-conscious,” she added, “After having my baby, I’ve gotten so much more powerful.” She then said, “We’re going to lean into this new body, and I think that is the whole aura of what’s happening with me in this big boss era as I come into my 30s, and I have my baby boy, and I’m just continuing to spread my wings as a young woman.”
Following the incident, Usher and Keke Palmer collaborated to make Usher’s latest release, “Boyfriend.” At first listen, the song would seem to fall in line with Usher’s go-to “steal-your-girl” vibe. The song starts off with “Somebody said that your boyfriend’s looking for me. Oh, that’s cool. Well, he should know I’m pretty easy to find, just look for me wherever he sees you.” The video ends with Palmer laying in bed, realizing it was all a dream, and upset with herself for sleeping through Usher’s show. She then says, “Sh*t. I’m so tired.” She sighs and finishes the video off by saying, “You know, I’m a mother. After all.” The revenge song of the year goes to Palmer with her middle finger to the haters who were giving her backlash for taking a few hours off away from parenthood to enjoy herself.
