Friday, August 18 41-year-old popstar, Britney Spears took to Instagram to break the silence over her 29-year-old husband Sam Asghari filing for divorce. Asghari filed for divorce in Los Angeles earlier this month and the court files discussed that the pair have been separated since July 28, 2023. Reports started to come to the surface Wednesday, August 16th from TMZ which reported that they may have split after an argument on infidelity allegedly on Spears’ side. The pair had originally tied the knot in June of 2022, after dating for 5 years. Spears, 41, and Asghari, 29, met during the “Slumber Party” music video was being filmed. As the news regarding their divorce spread, Spears broke her silence by posting on social media. In one post she said, “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because it’s honestly nobody’s business !!!” Spears said this while dancing in a video to Janet Jackson’s 1993 hit “If.” Asghari also took to social media and posted a statement on his Instagram story saying, “After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.” Spears’ marriage to Asghari was her third after she was married to Jason Alexander for only 55 hours in 2004, and to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007, in which she had two children with Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16.
