IJihyo from Twice has earned her first-ever music show trophy for her hit song “Killin’ Me Good”! On August 25, Music Bank invited Jihyo to come on their show to participate in their “Top Summer Hits.” She accepted the request and suddenly points for her song “Killin’ Me Good” flooded in. Soon enough, she reached all the way to first place and took her first win with “Killin’ Me Good” with over 5,000+ points. The competition was getting heated, and it depended on just a 5-point advantage for Jihyo to win. And the suspense was killed when a whopping 500+ points added to her total, leaving Jihyo’s total number of points at 5,525 which successfully led to her victory. When she saw the numbers increase dramatically, a huge grin appeared on her face. She couldn’t believe what she had just seen happen. She then started sobbing while accepting a lovely bouquet and a jaw-dropping trophy. She proceeded to hug all her fellow competitors and tell them how much she appreciated competing with them. One of her fellow competitors, Ryujin from Itzy, hugged her from behind and told her that she deserved the trophy.
After her roller coaster of emotions, she prepared a heartfelt speech that thanked all her fellow producers, members, and fans. She stated, “Oh my goodness, I can’t believe all of this is happening. I would first like to thank my fans for all the love and support you have given me, without you guys, I wouldn’t be anything. I wouldn’t be here with you right now if it wasn’t for my fans who have given me all the support they give me! I would also like to thank my fellow members and producers for helping me along the way and for guiding me through all the ups and downs while making this album. It took over a year to put all this together, but everything was worth it. Words can not express how much I thank you guys every day. I love you all so much, thank you for everything you guys have done and given me!” Later on, after she exited the stage, she decided to do a live on Instagram showing her members, Nayeon, Momo, Mina, and Chaeyoung all holding a giant teddy bear and a gift basket for her to receive because either way if she won or lost, they would at least give her something for all the hard work she has put into making her solo album and congratulating their leader on her solo journey.
