Bourbon County is a small town, with a population of about 20,229 people. The small town sits just outside of Lexington Kentucky, home of Keeneland and the Kentucky Horse Park. Bourbon County, which was founded in 1785, is known for its bourbon whiskey and horses, raised at the several well-known farms in Bourbon. However, what else does Bourbon County offer?
Take a drive! Ride down to the main street to enjoy our small-town shops! From boutiques like, “Fancy Flamingo” and “Southern Lux style”, to small Town coffee shops like, “Happy People Coffee” and “Lil’s Coffee House”. Bourbon County offers many small-town delicious food locations, for example, “Trackside” which has all-American food! Another known restaurant here is “Paradise Cafe”. This Asian cuisine is made with love, and the menu has many things to choose from. However, if you are interested in an outdoor activity, Bourbon has much to offer. Hiking is a great way to enjoy nature and exercise, Blue Licks is an easy hike and has many great nature sites all around. Kentucky is known for its many famous horse parks that are free to visit, such as “Adena Springs”, “Claiborne Farm’ ‘, “Runnymede Farm” and many more that hold the history of Paris Kentucky. Bourbon County has 4 parks, 3 elementary schools, the YMCA, pools, and a library for kids to have a great time enjoying Paris. Not only does Paris have activities to do but they also have annual celebrations, festivals, and downtown shop walks. The celebrations are for all ages, interactive, and include our small-town shops.
