Everybody loves the VMA’s, mainly because some of their favorite artists attend it and it just so happens to be one of the more entertaining award ceremonies. The 2023 VMAs were held on September 12, at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Of course, you may be on the edge of your seat waiting impatiently to see if your favorite artist got a reward for their music, but the VMA’s also continued the legacy of memorable performances, great speeches, and plenty of iconic celebrity moments. But what were the off-the-cuff moments that happened at this year’s VMAs?
Let’s talk about one of the performances that was brought to this year’s VMA’s, which is Doja Cat’s performance to her recent hits “Attention,” “Paint the Town Red,” and “Demons.” Alongside her backup dancers that were covered in red paint to match the cover of her single “Attention.” Her song “Demons” is a part of her recently released album called “Scarlet,” which consists of songs such as “Agora Hills” and “Love Life.” Doja captured the audience with a single look and her neverending passion.
Taylor Swift had the pleasure of some playful tweets going around under the label of “Drunk Taylor,” which started a trend on X (formerly Twitter) after a video of her drinking and dancing at the VMAs went viral. Taylor had a wonderful night as she seized numerous awards, most notably the Video of the Year for her hit song Anti-Hero. “Drunk Taylor” was also caught fangirling over the NSYNC band reunion for the first time in years and no one was more thrilled than Swift, who immediately leaped to her feet in joy. The former boy band then announced her win for Best Pop Video, also handing her a friendship bracelet and she seemed almost too stunned to speak at first. At the podium, Swift said she was honored “to receive this from your golden pop hands. Thank you for the friendship bracelets.”
