On October 16, Media Reports reported that the ex (G) I-DLE member, Soojin, recently signed a contract with BRD Communications and is now preparing for her solo debut after a hiatus of nearly three years. BRD Communications shared news of signing an exclusive contract with Soojin and confirmed plans for her solo debut by saying, “We plan to release her album within this year.”
Due to a bullying scandal in 2021, Soojin got tangled in the situation following allegations of school violence raised by the actor Seo Shin Ae, who claimed to have been a victim of bullying during their school days. Because of this, Soojin faced major backlash and even death threats for something she proved she didn’t do. Despite Soojin denying all the false accusations and taking legal action against the accuser, Cube Entertainment decided to depart Soojin from (G) I-DLE and terminate her exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment.
After her exit from Cube Entertainment, Soojin’s loyal fans had been anticipating news about her plans. After many years of waiting, it appears that Soojin has made a strong comeback to assert herself as a soloist in the music industry. Her personal Instagram account, which she opened in July, has been an inside on her journey back to the stage. Each update and interaction makes fans believe that she will return to the spotlight soon enough. The past controversy remains present, but the international fans support her no matter what. Their support towards Soojin echoes a wave of redemption and hope that Soojin’s solo career will be a huge success.
As her debut gets closer, the spotlight is once again shining on Soojin. But this time, it’s not the harsh glare of controversy, but the warm glow of anticipation. The stage is set up for Soojin to not just prove she still has her fire, but to tell her story of resilience. Through her music, she wants to interpret that she is not just another fallen idol, but a star that aims to be the brightest one in the sky.
