The famous “Hotline Bling” rapper, Drake recently dropped his new album, For All the Dogs on October 6th. The album was originally supposed to be released on September 22, which would have landed on the same day as Doja Cat’s Album, Scarlet, which has the recent chart-topping hit Paint the Town Red. Drake announced through social media on September 15th that the release of his upcoming album, For All the Dogs, was postponed to October 6 so that he could complete his It’s All a Blur tour. “Okay my dilemma I am faced with is either cancel shows to finish the album or I complete the mission and drop the album before the last show,” Drake wrote on his Instagram Story. “I owe you all these memories we are building and anywhere we have missed to date we will be spinning back for sure.” He concluded the post by saying, “For All the Dogs October 6th. It’s only right.” The album For All The Dogs is his first solo album since his album, Honestly, Nevermind that he released in June 2022. Five months later, he teamed up with 21 Savage on their joint album, Her Loss. Both releases debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Drake’s song, Fear of Heights, fans speculate that he is throwing shade towards his ex, Rihanna, who he dated on and off from 2009-2018. In the song, Drake repeats the word “Anti,” which is the title of Rihanna’s 2016 album. The lyrics are, “aye, aye look. Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you? That could never be. Gyal can’t ruin me, better him than me. Better it’s not me. I’m anti, I’m anti.” He also seems to reference to Rihanna’s boyfriend, A$AP Rocky later in the song with the lyrics, “and I had way badder b*tches than you, tbh. Yeah, that man, he still with you, he can’t leave you. Y’all go on vacation, I bet it’s Antilles.” Barbados is Rihanna’s birth place in which she frequently visits and is located in Lesser, Antilles.
