Jacklyn Smith, more commonly known as Jacky Oh, a former star of popular show ‘Wild N Out’ has died at 33. Smith was a mother to three children and had been dating DC Young Fly since 2015. On May 30, 2023, Smith went to Florida to get a “gluteal augmentation” surgery. She was prescribed painkillers and released from the hospital. On the night of May 31, 2023, she experienced a severe headache. She told her aunt it, “began to feel like her head was burning.” Her aunt called 911 where Smith was taken unresponsive to the hospital.Where she was later pronounced dead. According to media outlets, it is said Smith had swelling in her brain and bleeding around her torso but this has not been confirmed. Augmentation gluteoplasty is a procedure done by either placing silicone implants in the buttocks or by removing fat from the stomach and transferring it to the buttocks. This procedure has been performed over 21,000 times in the past year alone. It is common for this procedure to go as planned and everything turns out great but studies show that “Complication outcomes of interest included wound dehiscence, infection, seroma, hematoma, asymmetry, and capsular contracture.” There have been 25 deaths related to this procedure in the US over the past five years. This is a somewhat small number compared to how many people die each year. Smith’s death was caused by complications from her surgery but it is unknown whether it was from the surgery itself or the medication she was put on after. The official autopsy report ruled her death as accidental. The death of Jacky Oh is tragic as she leaves behind three children, a longtime partner, friends, family, and lots of fans. “Jacky Oh was a loving friend and beloved colleague of the Wild ‘N Out cast throughout five seasons,” the spokesperson continued. “More importantly, she was a tremendous mother to three beautiful children.”
