As fun as it is watching men tackle each other over a ball, I think we could all agree football lacks a certain ingredient that would draw in a lot more attention from the girls. On behalf of anyone uninterested in sports, may I just say that it’s actually enjoyable to watch when the team is attractive. Crushes make people obsessed sometimes, and what better way to bring in fans than having them obsess over the players. The key to any team’s success isn’t always the talent but the crazy fans backing the team up. The Cincinnati Bengals brought in Joe Burrow, and look what that did for the team. Not only did he bring the team to the 2022 Super Bowl, he converted thousands of fans into the Bengals family. The media team for the Bengals did a great job introducing Burrow as a Bengal, and we all saw the effect that had on many teenage girls. His name was already known across the country, but when we were updated with his most recent outfit choices and new hair, his name became a whole new meaning. Joe Burrow edits took over TikTok, and Bengals games were all of a sudden filled.
Having attractive players on a sports team is more important than one may think. They can attract more fans and bring more excitement. It creates a lot of sponsorship and marketing opportunities as well. It isn’t just the Bengals that have seen this, but other NFL teams as well. Managers know how to draw the media in. Travis Kelce has become known world-wide ever since it was announced he was dating Taylor Swift. Swift alone has millions of fans, which then transferred over to also becoming Chiefs fans. The whole situation seems like a publicity stunt to lure more attention to the Kansas City Chiefs. And it’s not just non-Swifties saying that- many true Swifties have claimed they “believe Kelce isn’t who Swift would choose” (Business Insider). Her songs are known to portray relationships throughout her life; both good and bad. She’s obviously dated some questionable men, and Kelce could fall right into that category. It’s hard to tell whether or not this is a fake relationship, but if it is, both the media and sports directors know exactly what they’re doing.
Speaking of the media and teams being expertise on luring fans in, they’ve done a great job on building the Bengals team into what I would call a team of eligible bachelors. You’ve got players like Burrow, Andy Dalton, A.J. Green,Tyler Boyd, Ja’Marr Chase, Mitchell Wilcox, Jessie Bates, and Sam Hubbard reeling in a lot of attention. City Beat claims ‘Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow Is NFL’s Most Handsome Quarterback”, and who wouldn’t agree with that. There has been a rumored engagement concerning Burrow and his girlfriend Olivia Holzmacher. But that doesn’t have to stop all of his fans from imagining he’s single. Joe Burrow will always be a bachelor in our hearts!
Football along with other sports may not be the most enjoyable to some but it can be with the assistance of some eye candy out on the field. Thanks to the media team and sponsorships from the Bengals everyone can enjoy the game on Sundays.
