On October 2nd, 2022, Hardy and three of his crewmates were traveling by tour bus on the i-40 from a show. Hardy was on Facetime with Morgan Wallen, and the two were talking and teasing each other about various things when there was an accident. Morgan reports, “I knew something had happened but wasn’t sure”. The tour bus ended up flipping off the road at 70mph. The four people on that bus were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Hardy recalls the accident, “within what felt like 3 seconds, our bodies were thrown across the room, knocking us all unconscious. By the grace of God, we all survived. My injuries included a shattered foot, a punctured lung, four broken ribs, and a fractured vertebrae in my neck.” Hardy “was told numerous times by doctors that it was a miracle everyone survived.” When Hardy was released from the hospital Wallen picked him up and took him home.
The anniversary of this accident has just recently passed. Hardy took to Instagram sharing that he has suffered immense anxiety since the accident which has been taking a serious toll on his health. Hardy confessed to having panic attacks so severe it has landed him in the hospital. Hardy canceled two of his tour dates to focus on himself and his family. He returned to his tour Oct 12, 2023. Hardy is now physically fully recovered and even back in the wrestling ring.
