Jackson was diagnosed with Charcot-MarieTooth Disease almost a decade ago but didn’t go public with it until September of 2021. “Charcot-Marie-Tooth is a hereditary disorder that affects the nervous system, causing progressive loss of muscle tissue and loss of sensation in the arms and legs. Patients may also experience trouble balancing and difficulty walking.” There is no cure for this disease. Jackson kept the diagnosis private until it became more noticeable and painful to continue touring. As of right now, Alan Jackson has decided to take a break from touring to focus on his health.
