Bourbon County High School; a school located at the heart of a close-knit community with warm-hearted people that bring it all together. As 2023 comes to an end there are numerous things that BCHS students have been fortunate enough to have. There are kind and capable people that have been keeping the school going and improving this school year that everyone should be thankful for. As you gather with family and friends to celebrate everything you’re thankful for this year, think of the BCHS staff that have selflessly devoted their time to bettering your school.
One BCHS staff member to be thankful for is Mr. Adkins. Mr. Adkins graciously took the role of principal in 2022 and has continued to become the official principal of our school and is thriving with success and new accomplishments. He spends his time volunteering at school events, attending sport events, and keeping up with the issues that come up on a daily basis at BCHS. The amount of tasks and responsibilities Mr. Adkins has to do for the school is an ongoing list that he miraculously English teacher Ms. Daniel described how thankful for Mr. Adkins she is by stating, “I’m thankful that Mr. Adkins creates a positive experience for both students and staff in the building. He works hard and always has the faculties back over everyone else.” We can always depend on our incredible principal Mr. Adkins.
Mrs. Walters, a school counselor at BCHS, is also an important part to keeping BCHS students on track. She is the senior counselor and helps students apply to colleges, make future plans, and overall help them prepare for the real world. She selflessly helps any student in need of assistance. Mrs. Walters expressed the pure kindness that everyone should strive to give to others. One student stated, “Mrs. Walters isn’t just a great counselor but also a great person. She’s helped me so much with school related things and my personal life. I appreciate her more than I can put into words or explain.” BCHS students are lucky to have the caring and helpful counselor that Mrs. Walters is.
Another BCHS staff member to be thankful for is Ms. Emanuel. Ms. Emanuel is the BCHS Registrar, meaning that she helps maintain student records. She has a lot of responsibilities to keep up with and still does her job with utmost care. She continuously helps students by doing enrollments and helping students get into college. She also goes above and beyond by helping with attendance when she can and is an administrative assistant. We couldn’t do it without Mrs. Emanuel and her efforts to help students and fellow staff members.
As you can see BCHS staff put in a continuous amount of effort into our school every day, no matter what the circumstances are. Remember to appreciate these staff and all others this Thanksgiving season!
