It was recently confirmed from YG Entertainment, that BLACKPINK members will only be signing under the company for group promotions, not individual ones. In a more recent post, shared by YG Entertainment, they confirmed that each of the BLACKPINK members will be signing under the company group promotions. The statement read,” Hello, this is YG Entertainment. We have recently signed a contract extension for BLACKPINK’s group activities. We have also agreed that we will not proceed with a separate contract for their activities. We will do our best to support BLACKPINK’s activities and we will cheer for their activities with a warm heart. Thank you.”
Earlier that year, YG Entertainment shared that all the members renewed contracts for group activities, but didn’t mention any information about their activities. Earlier this year, however, eagle-eyed fans spotted details that one of the BLACKPINK members, Jennie, started her label. Curious fans happened to find a website for the label ODDATELIER, which ”Aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.” They were thrilled to find out the label was founded by Jennie Kim in November 2023. This evidence proved that it was Jennie but fans decided to dive deeper into the page to find any more information. They eventually found a private Instagram page and Twitter (also known as X). Although the label’s website and social media are private, fans seem to speculate that Jennie is almost ready to officially launch her new label in 2024.
In more recent news, Jisoo has also been reported to be joining a label of some sort and it’s rumored that she will be joining her brother’s label, Biomom, for her solo activities. According to an exclusive report from Xsportnews, Jisoo will be joining her older brother’s label sometime later this year. While Biomom is a health food brand, they recently drew attention by announcing their new business plan which was to expand their entertainment industry and recruit employees. Their temporary name for the entertainment section of their company will be called Blissoo, which proves the rumors are true that Jisoo will be joining her brother’s company. Part of their employee recruitment also showed a picture of Jisoo in the employee recruitment announcement and stated that they are looking to expand their entertainment business both internationally and domestically so their artists can be loved by fans around the world. However, a representative from Biomom told Xsportnews they have no idea about the report. Even if all the rumors about Jennie starting her label and Jisoo joining her brother’s company are true or not, at least fans are aware that BLACKPINK will officially depart from YG Entertainment and will pursue their careers solo.
