People have studied the behaviors of animals for years now, looking at everything from their dietary habits to how they react around people. This has given us the ability to create in depth descriptions of most if not all of the known animal species. While it tends to take a while to gather enough information to create an accurate description once a definite description has been established, there are very few shifts in their behavior from what we know, until recently. Over the past few years, strange things and shifts have started to occur within the animal world. Odd behaviors and strange attacks that normally don’t occur have been much more common in recent years. With this not being an isolated trend, and with occurrences like this only increasing, this shows that something odd is going on that is bigger than we know. From strange uncommon attacks to abnormal habits something has changed, and the animals are starting to react to said change.
On the 31st of December, 2023 a 45 year-old man named Richard Brookman was fishing at Jane Creek in Australia. He was a local fisherman. As he was fishing, he saw a crocodile swimming towards him, and went to the back of his tinnie (a small boat). Then out of nowhere, the crocodile launched itself out of the water onto the boat. It was 3 feet larger than the boat and quickly fell off. While crocodiles jumping is a normal behavior, it is normally to get away from boats not onto them.
As the 2023 year was winding down, Hakodate Japan found a surprising shore of silver stretching over a kilometer long. This turned out to be a collection of a total of 1200 tons of sardines and mackerel. This is even weirder as a few days later they found 30 to 40 tonnes of Japanese scaled sardines a few hundred miles south of Hokkaido. Initially, they had no clue what was causing all of these fish to wash ashore. Some believed that all of the fish had been chased ashore by bigger fish which they had never seen before. Reporters were told that officials planned to sample the water to determine the cause. Oddly enough, these occurrences didn’t start until after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant started releasing treated water.
Both of these occurrences have revolved around humans, which suggests that odd changes involving animal behavior and mortality rates are the cause of human action. From animals becoming more aggressive towards humans like the crocodile, and odd attacks from normally docile animals, To the mysterious death of tons of aquatic life most likely due to an incident closely connected to humans. Overall it appears as if human action has caused such a large impact on the environment that it is causing catastrophic damage to animals. Along with making it clear to animals that humans are the cause of the destruction to their environments. This could very well be the reason for the odd behaviors and could mean that they believe getting rid of us could be the only way to return their homes back to normal. While this could be the case, it may be too late to remove humans to fix the problem, and we may be the only chance to prevent the total destruction of the planet
