Usually, a lot of people would like to see a total solar eclipse. In some regions you can’t see it, so lots of people travel the country to do so. A total solar eclipse is when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, thereby obscuring the view of the Sun from a small part of the Earth at a time of day. It blocks the Sun’s disk completely. A total solar eclipse will appear across North America on April 8, 2024. According to Space.com, the total eclipse will path from New Mexico through the U.S. to Southeastern Canada. The path is approximately 115 miles (183 kilometers) wide on average. It’s only supposed to happen for 4 minutes and 28 seconds. The total solar eclipse is hitting Canada big time. It’s an event for them. There hasn’t been a large solar eclipse there in over 4 decades. The total solar eclipse is bringing in tourism in the cities and towns. People across the country are making plans to get a good glimpse of the eclipse. Lots of people are looking for listings on Airbnb but some people forget to buy special glasses to look at the eclipse. “When people are looking to Airbnb, people are looking for big kitchens, backyards, amenities, and large outdoor spaces” Mcnama told GlobalNews. The Solar Eclipse is even affecting animals. According to USAtoday.com, people around the world have noticed in previous eclipses the surreal silence in animals such as bugs, birds, and animals. It has interrupted their normal activities. Even researchers at zoos have noticed a change in the animals. Flamingos gather around in a circle to protect their babies, giraffes begin to gallop around their enclosures, and swarms of large groups of birds began to appear on the radar and suddenly leave the sky and began roosting in the trees. The gorillas march to their dens whilst thinking it is their last meal of the day. Lots of people think animals can’t be harmed, but scientists are gearing up to observe multiple zoos that align in the path of the eclipse. Overall, the many effects of the Solar Eclipse will be interesting to witness, and it is certainly an event to keep an eye on.
