Recently Netflix announced a sequel to its popular “Quarterback,” series. This new series will be following some of the games most popular and prominent pass catchers simply named “Receiver.” The series will follow NFL stars Devante Adams, Justin Jefferson, KJ Osborne, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. The series will cover the day to day life and grind for NFL stars as they progress through the season. If Receiver is received nearly as well as Quarterback was it’s safe to say that next season we will get another show covering a new set of stars from another position. As we wait for Receiver to finally drop on Netflix we can go ahead and speculate on the next position group that will get covered.
The most logical next step for the series would be to cover the star running backs in the NFL. The name would be harder to predict because “Backs” doesn’t sound very marketable. The more reasonable and sensible name is “Running Backs.” There are many stars that would be great for the series, my favorite selections for the role would be Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson, and Christian McCaffery. The workhorses of the NFL deserve some love too and I believe that this would be a great show. Running Backs personalities seem to rarely be featured in the media so this would be a good way to feature fans favorite backs in a great way.
I think that another position that would make for a great series would be cornerbacks. Corners are well known to be the hot heads and loud mouths of the league. Going in depth of the lives of the games most talkative position would be insanely entertaining. My choices for the series would be Sauce Gardner, Jaire Alexander, Jalen Ramsey, AJ Terrell, and Trevon Diggs.
The final group I could possibly see them doing is lineman. Both offensive and defensive, the game’s biggest players also seem to have the biggest personalities. I think that good selections for this series would be Creed Humphrey, Christian Wilkins, Orlando Brown, Dexter Lawrence , Trent Williams, Jordan Mailata, and B.J. Hill. This group could bring a new light to the physical guys up front and really get more eyes onto the position.
While we sit back and wait for Receiver to drop it’s fun to speculate what other fun things that the NFL might collaborate with film companies to make. Peyton Manning’s film company Omaha productions might soon start making feature films on NFL stars, if these perform well in the box office these highlight films might become a norm to appear in box offices.
