Morgan Wallen, who was recently arrested for throwing a bar stool off a six-story building was charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct on April 8th, 2024. The singer threw the chair over the edge of the rooftop because he thought it would be funny. Two police officers who witnessed the incident said they observed Wallen hurling a chair from the rooftop of Chief’s Bar, a six-story establishment on Broadway. Wallen could face up to six years in jail, it reported that each of his felony charges “Could carry one to two years in prison.” That means he could face up to six years, but criminal defense attorney David Raybin told PEOPLE the chances he serves those sentences consecutively are remote. “I seriously doubt how he would get consecutive time,” says Raybin, who is not involved in Wallen’s case. “It’s based on prior record and extreme dangerousness of the offense: professional, criminal, sex offense. It’s a pretty limited category. Generally speaking, this would not be consecutive. [Wallen’s] is a serious offense — I don’t want to minimize it, but still, he probably would not be eligible for consecutive sentences. It’s probably a maximum of two years assuming he was not put on probation.” But because the chair landed right beside two police officers, which could have hit them. The charges may be harsher. Raybin stated that because of Wallen’s fame, he might only face 10 days in jail and the rest on probation. Wallen is scheduled to be in court on May 3rd, which is the same day he is supposed to play Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, with a capacity of 69,000 people. Wallen posted on Twitter apologizing for what he did and said he would take responsibility for his actions. He stated that “he is cooperating fully with authorities”.
