Taylor Swift is a singer-songwriter of hundreds of famous top-charting songs. Last year news of her Famous Ears tour broke the internet, leading to millions raging over the celebrity all over again. Shortly after the eras tour began she quickly released Speak Now (Taylors Version) and then 1989 (Taylors Version) in October of 2023. Soon everywhere you went there was talk of Taylor Swift, even at the Super Bowl there was so much news about her newly sparked romance with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. Just as the press started to die down, she revealed after winning her 14th Grammy that her newest album would be coming out.
The album is titled The Tortured Poets Department, and the cover depicts a black and white photo of Taylor in shorts and a tank top in a bed. Soon after the announcement, more details flooded the internet with a list of the songs and A-list artists joining her for two songs. Swift teased that her album would be full of heartache and heartbreak by releasing five exclusive playlists on Apple Music, titled The Five Stages of Grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.
After her album was released, she received many good and bad comments on the songs and lyrics. Overall there were many mixed reviews with many saying that it “lacks melody and Musically”. However, others say that her words were “powerful and poetic”. Although many didn’t enjoy the album, some just can’t hate her new revenge songs. After years of an ongoing feud with Kanye and Kim Kardashian, she finally released a song dedicated to her. “thanK you aIMee” With capital spells out Kim. In the song, she explains her struggle throughout the years with the celebrity, but in the end, her rude ways help Taylor become who she is. While people love and hate it there is no doubt that Taylor’s new album is not different and unique.
