The movie Twister that was released July 19th, 2024, I saw about a week after its release. I found the movie to be quite interesting with how Kate Carter was determined to find a way to completely disrupt tornadoes. The concept of wanting to disrupt tornadoes Is really amazing. With Kate’s whole studies through the movie, I couldn’t help but to think about how that would improve human life by being capable of disrupting tornadoes with a few devices and chemicals. This could save so many lives.
In the very beginning, Kate and her friends are all trying to chase this tornado to disrupt it, but she ended up making a miscalculation, and it cost all her friends lives, except herself and one other friend that wasn’t in the storm with them. Consequently, Kate doesn’t chase storms for about five or so years after the tragedy, and her friend Javi, the one that isn’t going to the storm with them, is contacting her again and he’s wanting help from her to come back to Oakland to assist him In disrupting tornadoes with this very shady company he is working with. Ultimately, He needs her because she’s the best with her intuition on twisters.
The movie was something I’ve never seen before. Young minds are determined trying to figure out ways to disrupt tornadoes. In the very beginning of the movie Taking Place In her hometown, Oakland, I thought Kate and her friends would get the experiment right due to the explanation of their degrees and how intelligent they are, alongside how many of her friends that were participating In the experiment. The whole idea of the experiment Is good but in theory, It could be possible to shoot silver iodine and the absorbing material into the atmosphere. But the probability of something like that working Is just far too small.
