The Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained on September 8, 2024 the day of the opening game of the Dolphins 2024 season. Hill was pulled over due to reckless driving. Once pulled over, he was also arrested for driving without a license. When the police stopped Tyreek, they went up to his window and knocked, as the law usually does, but Tyreek, did not like that and had a very rude response stating, “Hey, don’t knock on my window like that.” When police asked him why he didn’t have a seat belt on, he just kept repeating “don’t knock on my window”.
Tyreek wanted a ticket so he could get to his game; so then, he rolled his window back up. The officer tells Hill to roll his window back down, in which he replies, “don’t tell me what to do”. The officer tells him, “if you don’t keep the window down, you will have to step out”, later, immediately ordering him to get out of the vehicle. Tyreek says he was going to get out repeatedly, but the officer says it’s too late and is seen pushing him to the ground while the other officer is seen standing over him.
Shortly after, Hill is seen sitting on the sidewalk in hand cuffs and the cop that originally knocked on his window is told by another officer that he is a “the Dolphins’ star player.’’
After discussion with the police, Tyreek was given a citation and let on his way.
On Monday, Hill told the press that “he was shocked it all happened so fast’’ and he also said that he just wanted a ticket so he wouldn’t get all the attention brought on him.
Do you watch the Dolphins? If so, do you think this whole situation is unnecessary? Should he have been let go just because he was the Dolphins star wide receiver?
