On October 9th, around 12;30 pm officers responded to a call about a person seeing a dead body. A contractor who had arrived at the home of Trudy fields showed up to do some work on the property while walking around the back of the home he found a pile of hair that seemed to belong to Trudy he also found a blood- stained mattress and drag marks in the grass with blood. 

When authorities arrived they found the body of Trudy lying in the grass near the blood stained mattress, they also found a blood- stained stick, and the last thing they found was another mattress on the back porch of the house. One of the mattresses had organs and dismembered body parts on it. When the police entered the home Torilena Fields, who is the daughter of Trudy Fields refused to leave the home and seemed to be casting spells,  they had to use tear gas to get her to exit the home. When Torilena came out of the house she appeared to have blood on her hands, clothes, and face. When the police were searching the house they found multiple body parts in a pot in the oven.

Members of the Fields family told authorities at the courthouse that Torilena moved to California a couple of years ago to pursue her acting career and they were unaware that she had moved back to Kentucky. A family member spoke out about the murder and said : “Obviously everybody’s angry and confused as to why but how do you say, ‘I’m so sad and I want justice for my family member, but I’m so sad because it my other family member not OK?'”. People described Trudy as a selfless, loving, christian  woman who always put her family first. Trudy always wished the best for others.
