On February 2nd, the GRAMMYS will take place and many people are looking forward to them. Many familiar faces such as Billie Eilish, Chappel Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter have been confirmed to come to this year’s Grammys as well as many others.
In an article written at CBS News by Kerry Breen, it talks about who has been announced to come to the 2025 GRAMMYS. So far, Billie Eilish, Shakira, Chappel Roan, and more have been nominated for awards as well as Charli XCX and Sabrina Carpenter. Nominees were announced in November of 2024 with Beyoncé leading the nominations with 11 nods. So far, Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Charli XCX have all been nominated for seven Grammys whereas people like Chappel Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift were nominated for six. The article also states that due to the devastating fires that consumed Los Angeles, the award show will be refocused away from glamour, and more on the wildfires. Officials estimated that thousands of residents, including several entertainment industry stars, lost their homes in the unfortunate event. The article also says that some of the lead-up events were canceled due to the fires. Due to these events, this year’s Grammys will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the dedication and bravery of the first responders who risk their lives to protect ours.
Another article written at USA Today by Anna Kaufman, it talks more about who is going to be performing at this year’s GRAMMYS, when it is, and who is going to be hosting it this year. This year, the list of performing artists includes people such as the previously mentioned Billie Eilish, Chappel Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and others like Benson Boone, Doechii, Raye, and Teddy Swims. Recording Academy CEO, Harvey Mason Jr. said in an interview “The upcoming GRAMMY Awards won’t be just about celebrating and honoring the best in music this year. They will also show how the power of music can rebuild, uplift, and support those in need.” He also goes on to say, “We are thrilled that so many artists in our community are banding together at this time to show support for their fellow music makers and others impacted by the recent wildfires.” One last thing the article talks about is that this year’s GRAMMY host will be Trevor Noah, who is best known as a comedian, writer, actor, producer, and television host.
Ane last article written at Billboard by Paul Grein, it focuses on some of the most popular singers who are set to perform at this year’s GRAMMYS, Taylor Swift and Beyoncė. This year, Beyoncė leads nominees with a total of 11 nods where Swift has six and the two superstars are going to be competing for album, record, and song of the year. This year, all eyes will be on Album of the Year as Beyoncė is looking for her first win in four years whereas Swift is looking for her fifth win in a row in this category. The last time Beyoncė performed at the GRAMMYS was in 2017 Where she sang the songs “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles” both from her Lemonade album. Swift’s last performance was in 2021, where she sang the songs “Cardigan” and “August” from her Folklore album, and “Willow” from her Evermore album.
As of right now, the GRAMMYS are still on schedule to take place on February 2nd at 8 P.M EST on CBS.
