Kentucky ranked 15th in the nation beats Tennessee ranked number 5th in the country. Kentucky led the half with the score being 35-26 Tennessee started to lead the game and the score was 58-60 with 4 minutes and 50 seconds left but then Koby Brea hit a step back three to give Kentucky the lead. With multiple guards being out due to injury Kentucky was still able to pull out a win, A guard Jaxon Robinson was out this game due to injury, and Lamont Butler was out due to a shoulder injury from the game before. Antonio Reeves had a great game scoring 27 of the Wildcats 74 points Trent Noah scored 11 points after coming off the bench. Amari Williams scored a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds. With 6 minutes remaining Kentucky outscored Tennessee. The wild cats were able to knock down 13 threes, and 3 were made by Trent Noah. The final score ended up bringing 75 to 64 with Kentucky being the winner. Kentucky has now improved to 15-5 for regular season games.
It is the Kentucky coach’s first year coaching at Kentucky and before the game, he made promises to Kentucky fans. “Like, I know I told you all he was going to win us some games before the season. I didn’t even expect he would win us this many.”said Coach Mark Pope
After the game, Kentucky’s players ran into the student section because they were so happy. “I think I was taking a picture with a kid, and I see everybody in there. And I ran over there. I was like, ‘I want some of that, too!’ It’s always good when you can have a moment like that with our fan base. Man, it’s amazing. We really cherish that” Koby brea said.
