

On Tuesday, February 25th, the Bourbon County Boy’s Basketball team played in the 40th
District Tournament against Montgomery County High School. The game was a big deal, and
everyone was excited to see how it would turn out. Unfortunately, Bourbon County lost with a
final score of 81-56.
From the beginning, Montgomery County was strong. They played with a lot of energy and skill,
quickly taking the lead. Bourbon County tried hard to keep up, but they struggled to find their
groove. Montgomery’s defense was tough to break through, and they kept scoring points,
making it even more difficult for Bourbon to catch up.
In the first half, Montgomery County built a big lead. Bourbon County had some good moments,
but they couldn’t close the gap. The halftime score showed that Montgomery was in control of
the game, and Bourbon knew they had a lot of work to do in the second half.
Even though they were behind, the Bourbon County boys didn’t give up. They kept playing hard
and showed a lot of heart. Some players made impressive shots and played good defense, but
Montgomery County stayed strong and kept their lead.
When the game ended, the score was 81-56, with Montgomery County winning. It was a tough
loss for Bourbon County, but they learned a lot from the experience. They showed determination
and teamwork, which will help them in future games. The fans and community supported them
all the way through out the game, recognizing the effort and dedication of the Bourbon County Boy’s Basketball team.
Additionally, Sophomore Mark Perraut was named Player of the Game for his play in the 40th
District Tournament and Junior Noah Earlywine and Senior Mariqus Ferguson both were named
to the All 40th District Team for their play this year, showcasing their talent and hard work.
