The Lexington comic con & toy convention is back, it’s one of Lexington largest gatherings for enthusiasts of comics, film, television, toys, arts and music, it’s set to return this year to the central bank center at rupp arena in Lexington, Kentucky on march 6 thru the 9th,2025. This annual event offers fans and visitors a chance to meet. An array of celebrities and vendors offers a vast array of fan culture and hands-on experiences.
This year I had the pleasure of attending this event for the third year in a row, and it was an amazing experience again. The event was filled with attendees in cosplays, trading collectibles, and celebrations of their favorite fandoms. There were fans dressed as characters from Star Trek, Marvel, anime, and of course many more, which is a huge highlight to why I love the event. As a massive Star Trek fan, I was beyond excited when I learned that William Shatner, who was the actor that portrayed the original Captain James T. Kirk, was gonna be attending the event. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. During the photo op with Shatner, I had been cosplaying a female version of Spock, in which he complimented me on my cosplay. He was extremely kind and seemed to be enthu

siastic to see all the fans and the effort they put into the event. For me, getting a picture with such an iconic figure from my favorite show was a highlight of the weekend. Beyond the amount oc celebrity there, the convention was filled with vendors selling things like comics, artwork, action figures, and memorabilia, and more. There was also a discussion and opportunities to interact with the celebrity there.
All in all, the Lexington comic con & toy convention was a fantastic event, where you’re one of the die-hard fans or just a curious person, I highly recommend attending next year. It’s a fun weekend and has memories that will last a lifetime.
