Serving the Community Over the Holidays

During the Thanksgiving holiday, everyone thinks getting family around and having a nice meal with them is the perfect thanksgiving holiday. But what if it’s not? How about helping the other people around who are struggling. There are many ways to do this that are all quite simple. For instance, you could leave a bag of groceries on someone’s doorstep. Also, while you’re out and about, you could slip a five dollar bill into someone’s pocket. Spontaneous little acts of kindness can make a big impact in a person’s life. Whether it be a family member, friend, someone you don’t know or less fortunate people. Another grand gesture of kindness is helping the homeless. You could give them clothes, toiletries, or even a sleeping bag for the holidays. (The clothes should be something warm; such as coats or long sleeve shirts). This and some food can make a person’s life so much better; even if by just a little. More acts can be as simple as giving food and gifts to a couple of children at a children’s hospital. Or going to help out at local food banks. Everything thing counts whether it is a big or small act, it is still very helpful to those who need it. These types of nice gestures help so many people and at the end of the day, the holidays will be much more memorable.
