It’s that time a year again. The time of year where you turn the heat on, gather around the T.V. and watch holiday movies with your family; a carefree and fun time. Sometimes the Holidays can be a hurtful time with the unfortunate passing away of loved ones. However, these days do not have to be so bad if there are certain steps taken to help.

  • You can sing their favorite Christmas song. Play the song and sing it out loud.
  • Personally, my favorite thing to do is light a candle in their memory. This is a loving thing to do. It makes it seem as if they were there with you.
  • Or you can simply tell stories about them. Have a laugh or two with funny memories.

If your loved one is absent for the holidays, there are many things to do in order to preserve their presence.

  • Create a tree ornament with the loved one’s name on it
  • Stay in touch by Skype, call, text, or email
  • Write a letter and send gifts to let them know you miss them dearly

It is understandable that it is hard around the holidays when your loved ones aren’t around, but it does get easier by doing these steps.
