Don’t criticize me being unorganized!!
January 4, 2019
I’m sure every single new year, you will find at least 8/10 people with “Be more organized!!” on their New Years Resolution list. Everyone has told themselves to get organized at some point or another, but how many people actually follow through with it? A whopping 91% of people in a study say they want to be more organized, yet only 50% of people actually follow through with their New Year’s resolutions.
Being organized is one of the most self-rewarding and satisfying feelings, in my opinion. Whether it’s your home, work, schoolwork, or your bedroom, being organized is a pleasing feeling that can easily make you smile. It feels like a weight lifting off your shoulders when you finally get rid of the clutter you procrastinated picking up.
In what ways can you keep yourself organized? One thing almost everyone starts with is a yearly planner. With this, you can write down what you need to do on a specific day so you won’t forget. Also, you’ll feel obligated to do the task when you write it down and you’ll feel rewarded when you cross it out. Write things ahead of time!! If you know your mom’s birthday is November 27, write it down now so you won’t forget when the time comes. With a planner, you will finally remember your grandmother’s birthday this year, and you finally won’t forget your parents anniversary!
To keep your home or bedroom organized, get some containers to categorize those “extra” belongings. That way, you can finally find your pencils, plastic forks, and extra shoelaces, when they were all in the same drawer all along.
If you want to go above and beyond, color coordinate your closet! This isn’t a necessity to be organized, but it’ll for sure help on your interview day when you need your navy dress pants with your white button down.
From the many examples above, I hope it’s now obvious why being organized is a popular New Year’s resolution, and a good one to have. Everybody can find a way to be a little more organized, and the satisfaction you feel after will be extremely rewarding; take my word for it!
