What Thanksgiving means to me

Grace Russell

What does Thanksgiving mean to me? Thanksgiving means I get to eat tons of good food, hang out with family who I have not seen in a while, and get a break from school. Thanksgiving is a holiday to give thanks and to show thanks to everyone that has come into your life for good reasons.

During this time, my family and I plan everything out. We decide on which family members house we are going to eat at, we pick out what types of foods we will have and we just take time in between everything to appreciate what we have. The food that we make is always good. We all go home stuffed and happy.

This Thanksgiving my family and I plan on going up to my brother’s house. My two sisters, their boyfriends, my mom and I. They decided that we are going to have the traditional food that everyone else normally eats plus a few different things my brother’s friend wants to make. When we wake up we will drive up there. Then, we will eat the food. After all of that, we all will just hang out in the living room. We might play some board games and play with the little kids. Eventually, we’ll go home and more than likely sleep for the rest of the day.

I am very thankful for my family, friends, and everyone who I have met that has made an impact on my life. My friends always keep me happy. My family is always there for me when I need them, and everyone else like my best friend, Elizabeth. A special Thanksgiving memory I have is last year when we had it at my house. We were all sitting on the couch waiting on the food when my little nephew comes running in from the kitchen. I guess he was running too fast because when he tried to stop, he ran straight into the door. It was super funny.

Thanksgiving means a lot to me and I hope it does for you all too.
