Senioritis
March 3, 2020
Oh, senior year; the final stretch until the class of 2020 can graduate and enter the real world. Everyone is excited, anxious, and tried, however, there seems to be an illness of sorts making its way through the senior class, and I’m not talking about the Coronavirus, either. Senioritis, an unfortunate staple that somehow infects every graduating class at some point during the school year. First, it starts out as some procrastinating, putting off schoolwork and studying until a day before the due dates. Then, it gradually snowballs, students arriving late to school, not even turning int or doing any form of work their teachers assigned. While many people joke about senioritis, it is indeed a real thing throughout schools; the reason being is that seniors, students who have been in school for the longest out of anyone below them, can see a finish line in their future. Just two more months and they can cross that finish line, however, those two months will feel like they are dragging by, each passing minute will feel like an hour to the class of 2020. There is only one known cure for a case of senioritis; graduation.
Lack of motivation, lack of sleep, and lack of social life are all beginning symptoms of senioritis if you feel like you have or are developing any of these, might I suggest listening to an upbeat song or grasping on to the last shred of motivation and work ethic you have left? Once you catch senioritis, the effects of it take over your mind and body very quickly; you must try to fight it off and continue getting your final semester of high school completed. Let good grades, happy parents, and getting that diploma to be your remedies to combat this common sickness that infects you and your friends as you struggle to wake up in the morning.
The end of the year is almost upon us, and that means we will graduate from high school. Once the class of 2020 graduates and disperses for good, we will go out into the world. We will be ready and prepared to tackle anything that comes our way; more importantly, we will be free of the infectious disease that is senioritis. A parting word to upcoming seniors from the class of 2020, have fun beating your own case of senioritis!
