Harry Styles “Golden” Music Video
December 2, 2020
The music video for “Golden” by Harry Styles premiered on October 26th, 2020, on YouTube. The beginning shows us a cinematic intro of Harry Styles running while “Golden” is placed across the screen in gold lettering. The song was a part of Styles’ record-breaking second studio album called “Fine Line”, released on the 13th of December, 2019. The song was written by Harry Styles, Mitch Rowland, Tyler Johnson, and Kid Harpoon. The three-minute video features Styles’ running, swimming, and driving in Italy.
Fashion is something Harry Styles has shown that he’s not scared of branching out to new looks. For most of the video Harry is wearing, to no surprise, custom Gucci, a bright blue double-breasted jacket, along with a striped shirt underneath, paired with plaid pants. Also tied into the outfit is a pair of crochet driving gloves, covering Styles’ mismatched gold and yellow manicure. He is also seen wearing a white button-up shirt, with tan-colored shorts. Harry Lambert is Styles’ stylist and is known for having an impeccable style choice.
The song is number twenty-six on the US mainstream billboard top forty. How are people reacting though? I made a survey that consists of six questions. This survey was sent out to a big group of people who aren’t fans of Styles, but it was also sent out to a group of people who are fans. 88% of people have heard one of Harry Styles’ songs. These songs may include Lights Up, Adore You, Falling, Watermelon Sugar, Golden, Sign of the Times, Kiwi. Of that 88%, 24% have seen a Harry Styles Music video. However, 55% have heard the song Golden, which isn’t too surprising since it just recently became a single. Of those 55%, 44% of people have actually seen the music video. The last question I asked was to rate the music video if they have seen it, and 40% responded with 5 out of 5, and 48% responded with “I haven’t watched the video.”
