On Monday, January 11th the College Football national championship game was between the University of Alabama and Ohio State University. Ohio State beat Clemson in the Sugar Bowl on Friday, January 1st. The score totaled to Ohio State 49 to Clemson’s 28. The Alabama team beat Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl on January 1st. The final score was Notre Dame 14 to Alabama’s 31. Alabama has 2 Heisman finalists (Mac Jones and Devonta Smith) and Devonta Smith won the Heisman for the 2020 season. Ohio State is led by Junior Quarterback Justin Fields. Fields has 1,906 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions on the season. Fields had 385 passing yards and had six total touchdowns in the win against Clemson in the Sugar Bowl. Alabama has a record of 12 wins and zero loses. Ohio State has a record of 7 wins and 0 loses. Ohio State did not have a full season, some of the games were postponed due to COVID-19 concerns and Alabama is one of the few teams that have not postponed a game and had a full 12 game season in college football. 

The game will be in the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Florida, home of the well-known Miami Dolphins. According to CBS, Ohio State is projected to win the game between Alabama and Ohio State. The projected score is Ohio State 35 to Alabama’s 31. In the game between Alabama and Notre Dame, Mac Jones threw for 297 passing yards and had a total of 4 touchdowns. The Heisman winner DeVonta Smith had 130 yards on 7 receptions and had a total of 3 touchdowns. The Alabama team’s running back Najee Harris had 125 yards in 15 carries and averaged 8.3 yards every carry but did not have a touchdown in the game against Notre Dame.
