The Case Of Tristyn Bailey
October 29, 2021
Florida cheerleader, Tristyn Bailey, was last seen alive walking beside her alleged killer right before she was brutally stabbed 114 times. There was footage of the 13-year-old cheerleader walking beside Aiden Fucci toward a wooded area just after midnight on May 9th in their St. Johns neighborhood. Police say it is the last time Bailey was spotted alive. Over an hour later, the surveillance video allegedly shows Fucci sprinting away from the wooded area all alone. Police found Bailey in those woods the same day after her family reported her missing. Among the other new evidence released by prosecutors was the surveillance footage of Fucci’s mother, Crystal Smith, washing her son’s bloodstained jeans after the alleged murder. According to investigators, the video was taken inside the home. Smith was charged in June with tampering with evidence concerning Bailey’s murder after turning herself in. She was released on a $25,000 bond. During the investigation, authorities placed Fucci in the back of a sheriff’s vehicle. Authorities reported Snapchat videos from Fucci and another teen talking briefly in the back of the patrol vehicle. “We’re having fun in a cop car,” Fucci says. Fucci also posted a photo of himself in a patrol vehicle taking a selfie-and holding up a peace sign, according to the Sheriff’s office. The message said, “Hey guys, has anybody seen Tristyn lately.” People responded on Snapchat with one of the messages being, “You were with her aiden u know what happened to her.”
St. Johns County detectives investigated the death of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey shortly after. Not only did they find bloody clothes and sneakers in the bedroom of her accused killer, Aiden Fucci, but also a notebook containing “drawings of a violet nature.” Among the drawings referenced in the reports made available there was also an illustration that “depicted a satanic element to them, including a pentagram.” Another drawing showed a nude female with red X’s over her breasts and genitals, and what appeared to be blood coming from several wounds. When 14-year-old Fucci was put into a sheriff’s interrogation room, he was told by his parents that Bailey was dead and that he was the last person seen with her. He then replied with, “How is that my problem?” Later in the interview, Fucci admitted that he kissed Bailey and when she reacted he pushed her down and she hit her head. He said that he then walked away. According to her autopsy report, Bailey had 49 defensive stab wounds on her arms and right hand. She also had 35 stab wounds to her head and neck, including some as deep as 1 ¾ – inches and ones so severe that the knife broke off in her scalp. Aiden Fucci was charged as an adult with first-degree murder without bond, the pretrial hearing for Aiden Fucci is on October 28th.
