Global Warming

Global warming has been an underlying issue in the media for what seems like years. Battling with the recent COVID-19 strand Omicron, no one acknowledges it as much as they should. The current pandemic is a huge crisis but has been an ongoing issue for just a fraction of the time global warming has. Global warming is an aspect of climate change, referring to the long-term rise of the planet’s temperatures. For example, warmer temperatures are changing the weather patterns and disrupting the balance of nature. This poses many health risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth.

Global warming effects include the obvious heat increase, drought, insect population rising, and fire threats, just to name a few. According to NASA, climate change and global warming are two very similar but also very different things. Global warming refers to the average rise in temperatures due to the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Climate change refers to the increasing changes in the measures of climate over a long period of time. For example, melting glaciers, heavier rainstorms, and frequent drought.

There are several ways to decrease global warming before it gets out of hand. Everyone can help prevent global warming. From the way we travel to the electricity we use to the food we eat, you can make a difference. Preventing global warming can keep you and your family healthy for a long amount of time. The electricity we use affects the atmosphere since it’s based on the amount of gas and debris. In order to prevent this from happening, many people are switching to wind and solar power over coal. Changing how we live our lives can really make a difference for other generations to be able to thrive longer in the future.
