February 24, 2022
Each year there’s a Super Bowl game and with that there’s always performances during half time which is called a “halftime show”. This year on February 13th was the 56th Super Bowl game and it was very iconic. The 2022 game was between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams won with the score being 23-20. So who performed at this year’s Super Bowl?
This year five very iconic rap and R&B artists performed at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Those five artists were Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar. While these singers were excited Mary J Blige already knew a little about what it would be like because she performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2001. The halftime show kept getting better and better when rapper 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak made a surprise appearance. This year Mickey Guyton sang the national anthem.
Here’s a list of the songs that were sung at the 2022 halftime show:
“The Next Episode” by Snoop Dogg
“California Love” by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg
“Family Affair” by Mary J. Blige
“In Da Club” by 50 Cent
“No More Drama” by Mary J. Blige
“M.a.a.D City” by Kendrick Lamar
“Alright” by Kendrick Lamar
“Still D.R.E.” by Dr. Dre with Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem
“Forgot About Dre” Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem
“Lose Yourself” by Eminem
Each year people wonder if and how much the artists who perform in the Super Bowl get paid. The answer is they actually do not get paid. While they don’t get paid the NFL pays for the cost of the performance. The idea they have behind not paying artists is that they will receive more than enough money because people will be streaming their music before, during, and after the show. What do you think about this?
