An ongoing legal battle has been going on between famous actor Johnny Depp and actress Amber Heard. The two got married in February 2015 and their marriage was cut short in January 2017. In 2016, Heard filed for divorce and filed a restraining order against Depp due to assumed domestic violence. Johnny Depp is well known for his roles as the Mad Hatter in “Alice In Wonderland” and Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean”. Amber Heard is known for her role as Mera in “Aquaman”. Heard took Depp to court in July 2020, just 3 years after their initial divorce. They went back and forth, both accusing each other of domestic abuse. She took him to a High Court in London and a U.K. publication accused Depp of being a “wife-beater”. Following The Sun who accused him of that title, Depp then sued them for portraying him like that.

Following these accusations, caused Johnny Depp to be fired from his role in the Fantastic Beast franchise which caused a flame in the media and involved his fans. Depp ended up being in a long-term battle throughout the media from these claims. He would be harassed and threatened by ex-fans and fans of his former wife. However, once more started to come out, people saw more details come through in the case. The links between the former couple started switching. There was more and more proof which led to Amber being the one who was the abuser rather than Depp.

Over the past few years, the case and stories have been changing as well as going back and forth. The case has not settled for anything officially until very recently. The court sided with Amber throughout this decision. Johnny Depp ended up losing this defamation battle and even ended up losing 100 million dollars from this decision.
