Recently at the 2022 Grammy Awards, Olivia Rodrigo won three Grammys for Best Pop Vocal Album (Sour), Best New Artist Honor, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Driver’s License.”

She has dedicated a lot of effort to creating her album and music videos, as well as performing music videos. She has come a long way in her career ever since her first song on the album, “Driver’s License,” was released in 2021. 

Olivia Rodrigo grew up in California. Even at an early age, Olivia began to show a talent for singing and creating music, and she composed her own songs. She then became a child actress and landed the lead role in the Disney Channel show “Bizaardvark” in 2016 at just 12 years old. The show ran for three seasons and ended in 2019.

She then landed one of the main roles in another Disney production, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” in 2019. She played Nini in the series. But her music career really started to bloom when she wrote the song “All I Want” which was performed in the series and gained attention from many record labels. She then signed with Geffen Records and Interscope Records in January of 2020 and released her first single, “Driver’s License.”

The single debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which was the top-selling song of the week. At only 17, she is the youngest to ever achieve this record. The song became a huge success across all platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, and TikTok. “Driver’s License” became a huge trend on TikTok, and millions of people made creative videos with the song.

After that, Olivia started to work on her first album. She released “Deja Vu” in April of 2021 and then “good 4 u” in May 2021. These songs both became chart-toppers as well. She then released the entire album on May 21, 2021. The album was a huge success and made her well known in the music industry. 

Olivia’s success with “Sour” gave her many opportunities after its release. In February of 2021, she performed her song “Driver’s License” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

In May 2021, she performed at the Brit Awards in the United Kingdom, where became a huge success and even met her idol, Taylor Swift. Olivia then went on to win huge awards. At the Brit Awards in 2022, she won Best International Song for her song “good 4 u.” 

Olivia has worked hard to have the success she has today. She has won so many awards and earned many achievements at the young age of 19. I personally can’t wait to see what this outstanding young female artist does next.
