As the school year comes to an end, it’s time to look back at the past year and reflect on what’s been happening in the media and in the public eye. It’s been a very successful year for many new-coming musicians, such as Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, and Doja Cat. There were many award shows for musicians, performers, and actors. Those include the Emmys, the Oscars, the Grammys, and the Tony awards. As far as internet celebrities, it was quite the year for them as well. The Kardashian’s hit show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” ended after running for over 10 years. A few months ago, the family released their new show, “The Kardashians” on Hulu. Other famous reality shows that aired the past year were Love is Blind, Too Hot to Handle, Bling Empire, and Couples Retreat.

Many different things happened this year with influential figures which included the Royal Family, Britney Spears conservatorship, Taylor Swift releasing “Taylor’s Version” along with releasing “All Too Well”, also Rwandan actor Ncuti Gatwa who previously played Eric on “Sex Education” is playing the new Doctor Who releasing in 2023.

Broadway also reopened this past year with past shows making a return such as Wicked, Lion King, and Hamilton. Alongside with new shows coming to the stage or revivals which include Diana; which is a musical based on the life of Diana, Princess of Wales. With a revival of Funny Girl which originally closed in 1967 but made a comeback on April 24, 2022 starring American Actress, Beanie Feldstein playing the funny girl herself, Fanny Brice. Starring alongside, Ramon Karminloo, and Jane Lynch.
Mentioning the shows that have made comebacks, one famous one includes Friends which originally ended in 2004 after airing 10 seasons. A reunion aired with the original cast returning on HBO MAX last year. The year has been very successful for the artists listed with many of them being given awards for their talent. From best artist, best song, best music video. It’ll be a very successful year for those listed artists and maybe it’ll be a good year for new artists to come. Only time will tell.
