Who is Anuel AA? Is he a well-known rapper or is he a convicted criminal? Anuel AA began recording music at age 14, but became well known in 2010. In 2014, he gained immense popularity in Puerto Rico, which led to him becoming more well-known in America as well. Unfortunately, during this time in 2016, he was arrested for having a stolen pistol and two other guns on his person alongside a car full of ammo. What does this say about his character and how his fans will perceive him in the future?

Anuel goes on record to say “I don’t regret anything, for real,” he swears. “I’m the human being I am right now thanks to everything I’ve lived through, been through, gone through. [Prison] made me stronger. I learned how to live by myself, too. It turned me into a survivor. I thought I was a man [back then], I thought I knew everything about the world, but I didn’t. But that’s when I did learn about life, about being a real man, about responsibilities and priorities. I don’t regret it, because it had to happen (Schreffler 1).” Anuel must have still considered going to prison as a negative consequence as recently he brokered a deal with the Reebok shoe company to release his shoe line. The shoe is red, white, and black, and coming to stores with the name “Anuel AA x Reebok Pump Omni Zone 2”. 

However, this begs the question: why would someone with such notoriety and money want to be involved in this type of business? It could be assumed that Anuel brokered this deal in hopes to regain popularity among fans. Or maybe this is his retirement plan–who is to say?
