On August 28, 2022, the Video Music Awards were held. Looks at the vma awards should be eye-catching, something the media will talk about. Many famous artists came to the event in grand outfits and some not so grand. However, there were a few that hit the mark. 

Number five on my list is famous singer and actress, Sabrina Carpenter. Sabrina wore a cutout sequin flower dress. This dress had multicolored flowers on a black dress. This dress was very trendy, fun cutouts are a great way to appeal to the watchers of the VMA’s. Overall, this look was simple but also breathtaking and perfect for the VMA’s

Number four on my list is the Grown-ish star, Chloe Bailey. Chloe was wearing a silver, metallic corset, paired with a matching draped skirt to complete the stunning dress. Her dress was a custom Zigman, and paired with matching jimmy choo heels. For me, her dress was a perfect example of today’s trends, corsets. Also, the metallic silver is perfect to catch everyone’s attention. Overall, because of its color and trendiness, I think Chloe’s look met the criteria for what a VMA look is supposed to be by wearing something the media would love. 

Number three is Brazilian singer, Anitta. Anitta wore an eye-catching, bold red, asymmetrical corset, and a net-like cover draped onto her chest, with a simple matching red skirt. Her look from Schiaparelli’s fall 2022 collection, was truly jaw-dropping. This interesting design made sure to be different from everyone else, which in this case is very good. Anitta hit the mark on dressing to impress at this year’s VMA’s awards.

Second on my list is “About Damn Time” singer, Lizzo. Lizzo was a true showstopper with her voluminous black gown. You couldn’t look at her without being stunned by her outgoing fashion choice. Her look was what you’re supposed to bring to the VMA’s, something undeniably jaw-dropping.

Finally, first on my list was the star of the show and had social media going ballistic over her look. None other than the famous pop singer, Taylor Swift. Taylor had jewels draped perfectly along her body over a nude coverup. This iconic look was a reference from her “Look What You Made Me Do” music video when she had a jaw-dropping comeback in her music career in 2017. Swifty fans were jumping out of their seats, knowing that this reference meant something big. Later that night Taylor announced that she’d be releasing her album on October 21, 2022. I think she did the absolute best and did something that had an impact on the people watching the vmas and created a moment that most definitely no Swifty will forget.
