Have you ever seen any of the Disney Princess movies? Or at least the original Disney Princess movies? So, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Pocahontas? Well, anyways I always wonder why Disney Princesses are always slim and have that hourglass body and why the Disney Villains are always big and not very pretty on the face? I also wonder whether or not it can impact children. 

Do Disney Princesses have a positive or negative impact on young girls?

Disney Princesses are every little girl’s favorite. But are Disney princesses  good role models for young girls? There are some negative impacts that Disney princesses can have on young girls and there are positive impacts that Disney princesses can have on young girls. 

Positive impacts of Disney Princesses on young girls:

• Teaches young girls life lessons.
• Disney princesses can be determined to be compassionate, ambitious, and fearless.
• They always followed their dreams, they never gave up on hope, and they shaped their beliefs and values.

Negative impacts of Disney Princesses on young girls:

• Could lead to body self-esteem issues.
• Sending the wrong messages to young girls.
• Body images because Disney princesses are always made to be slim, to have a pretty face, and a very small waist (hourglass figure).

Parents were asked which Disney princesses were the best role models for their children. Belle from Beauty and the Beast was the highest with 85% of parents saying that Belle was the best role model for their children. Rapunzel was the lowest with 44% of parents saying that Rapunzel was the worst role model for their children. 

Why are all the Disney princesses all minors married to adults?

If you didn’t know, which you do now, half of the Disney princesses are minors and they have been kissed by a full-grown adult. For example, Snow White is 14 years old and at that age, she was put in a beauty coma, and the only way for the curse to be broken she needs to be kissed by a handsome prince. Her Prince is 31 years old. A grown adult. Also, there is a 17 years age gap. Now it might not seem bad but when you  think hard about it it is disgusting and gross. Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, Mulan, Merida, and Belle are all minors. Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Tiana are all adults.
