There was a mass shooting that happened in Raleigh, North Carolina last Thursday, leaving 2 people injured and 5 dead. The shooter was a fifteen-year old boy. Witnesses say the boy was armed with a long gun.  

The shooting happened in the Hedingham neighborhood near Osprey Cove.

Drive and Bay Harbor Drive. Police said that the people that lost their lives were people who were going about their daily routines.

The victims that have been murdered were different races and different ages. One of the victims was an officer named Gabriel Torrez, 29 years old-he was off duty, heading to work. Another woman named Nicole Conner, 52 years old was also a victim. Her husband mentioned to the Associated Press that she was on the porch talking to a neighbor when she got shot. Mary Marshal, 34 years old, was also killed. Mary’s sister told NBC news that she was walking her dog, Scruff, outside in the neighborhood like she would always do. Another victim was a 49 year old woman named Susan Karnatz, she was exercising when she got shot. Her Husband, Tom Karnatz, said she was an avid runner who often ran on the road, Greenway. The last victim murdered was a 16 year old boy named, James Roger Thompson. 

The two victims that were left injured was a 59 year old woman named Marcille Lynn Gardner and she was the Neighbor that was talking to Nicole Conner on the porch, Marcille remained in the hospital in critical condition Friday. The other victim that was left injured was a 33 year old cop and was wounded and released from the hospital.

An officer said that from there where he shot those people, the teenager fled to a nearby walking trail and continued shooting. The police did not catch him right away, the boy walked for 2 more miles and then the police cornered him at a home and that is where they arrested him. When he got arrested, he got injured, but authorities have not said if he injured himself or the police injured him.
