Maxwell Alejandro Frost was born on January 17, 1997, and is 25 years old. He has a Puerto Rican mom of Lebanese descent, as well as a Haitian father. He is also an American activist, a politician, and works a part-time job for Uber. He studied at Valencia College and is in the Democratic party. Before being elected into Congress he was an organizing director for “March for Our Lives”. Frost has dedicated his life to fighting for justice and has fought to end gun violence, as a result, he has helped pass major gun legislation. He has also fought for abortion rights and led the ACLU of Florida’s fight to win Amendment 4. This restored voting rights to over 1.6 million Floridians who have had previous felony convictions.

Being the youngest person to be elected into Congress, Frost has said that he’s used to being the youngest in the room and that his colleagues are excited to have him because he’s a breath of fresh air. Frost was inspired to run for Congress because he knows the system won’t change until the leadership does. Maxwell has stated, “As the first generation-z member of Congress, from day one, I will fight to end gun violence, win Medicare For All, transform our racist criminal justice system, and end the climate crisis.” He was also inspired after meeting a guy named Mathew who had a sister who was a victim of the Sandy Hook shooting. He said he wanted to dedicate the rest of his life to fighting for a world where no one had to feel the pain he saw in Mathew’s eyes that day. Many people aren’t thrilled with Frost winning the election due to people not taking him seriously and thinking he’s too young. Some people also don’t have the same political views as him and aren’t too excited to have a new congress member be in the Democratic party.
