Ryan Grantham, Riverdale Actor, commits Murder
January 16, 2023
Ryan Grantham is a 23-year-old Canadian actor who appeared in the movies “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “Riverdale”, alongside many more movies and TV shows. Ryan Grantham started in this industry by practicing as a kid and enrolled in schools that specialized in acting. Ryan began working in the entertainment industry at age nine in 2007.
Unfortunately, that all took a turn when he shot and killed his mother. Ryan Grantham shot his 64-year-old mother in the back of the head on March 31, 2021, while she was playing the piano. In a video, Grantham confessed to the murder of his mother and showed his mother’s body. The crime was committed in their home in Squamish, an hour away from Vancouver. But that wasn’t all. Shortly after the murder, he had told the authorities that he had planned on killing prime minster Justin Trudeau and possibly carrying out a mass shooting at a local university, but he had changed his mind. A day after the murder of his mother, he loaded his car with three guns, ammunition, 12 Molotov cocktails, and camping supplies. To kill Justin Trudeau, he instead turned himself over to Vancouver police.
Psychiatric reports presented to the court stated that he expressed the desire to kill himself, along with feeling self-hatred and guilt following the murder of his mother. He had battled depression in the months leading up to the murder and the violence that was planned. He had said in court “I cannot explain or justify my actions. I have no excuse,” Grantham said on the final day of his sentence hearing in June. “It hurts me to think about how badly I’ve wasted my life. … In the face of something so horrible, saying sorry seems so pointless. But from every fiber of my being, I am sorry.” It has to be said that Grantham will spend 14 years in prison for 14 years without parole due to second-degree murder.
