Meghan Trainor Pregnant With Her Second Child
February 8, 2023
Meghan Trainor is ready for round two in motherhood!
On January 30th, the “Made You Look” singer, 29, revealed on the TODAY show that she is expecting her second baby with her husband, Daryl Sahara from Spy Kids. She and her husband are already the parents of their 23-month-old son Riley, born in February 2021. “We try to tell him, there’s a baby in the belly, but then he points to his belly now and is like, ‘Baby.’ And we’re like, ‘Oh no, it’s not in yours — it’s in mama’s belly!” Trainor said on Today.
The Grammy winner also has teased about expanding her family on social media. Her fans congratulated her and were happy that she is expanding her family. Last month, Trainor told people it was her dream to give her son a sibling this year. “Hopefully, I’ll be pregnant in 2023, I’m trying to make four children, so I’ve got to get on to it,” she explained in December 2022 of her “goals.”
Meghan said she could have gotten pregnant months ago but didn’t during August 2022. The reason was that she was busy during that time but didn’t want to be nauseous and throw up while she was doing her work and it wouldn’t be fun for Meghan. She also added that she wants to have a girl and explained she plans to eat acidic foods for her chances of conceiving a girl.
In June 2022, Trainor spoke TODAY about the birth of Riley who is turning two on February 8th. Riley was born out of C-section, and Meghan’s song “Made you look,” described his scary birth as being similar to one of those horror stories because Meghan didn’t hear any crying or noises from Riley, he was just silent. She continued by saying she got scared and only got to see him for two seconds then the nurses took him away and said that he was having breathing problems. But, they were lucky they got to take him home after five days in the hospital.
Trainor went on to share that despite his rocky start, Riley ‘is the smiliest, happiest baby.”
While she announces her pregnancy, she also reveals that she wrote a book, titled “ Dear Future Mama,” which comes out on April 25th. “When I was pregnant, I felt very alone,” Trainor shared of her first pregnancy. “It was also COVID times so I didn’t have any friends that were pregnant with me, and I just remember being like, I don’t want anyone else to feel like that. So now I can be your future bestie and I can help you and tell you all my TMI details of my pregnancy and how crazy it was.” This wasn’t the first time Meghan had expressed about her pregnancy when she wasn’t pregnant or had a child, in 2019, she said that she wants to have as many babies as she can, a year after she tied the knot with her husband Daryl Sabara.
